Creating Extraordinary Artworks with Vintage Typewriters
Stormzy | 50 Years of Hip Hop
James created this typewriter artwork of legendary Hip Hop and British Grime artist, Stormzy. Typed in celebration of 50 Years of Hip Hop in 2023, woven into the drawing are hidden typed messages about the meaning behind his lyrics, empowerment and the transformative power of education.
The artwork uses both red and black in ribbons and took James 3 weeks to create in December 2023. This is one of the largest portraits that James has created to date measuring 56cm x 34cm, although as this artwork is framed with a window mount, the full outer dimensions of the artwork are 70cm x 52cm. The frame is high quality and glazed with anti-reflective acrylic. Original drawings are supplemented with a certificate of authenticity.
