Typewriter

Below are a succession of both good and bad features that I have experienced with owning the four typewriters that I have used to produce my artwork.

1956 Oliver Courier

Pros

Best typewriter ever!

Smooth and touch sensitive to create amazing shading

Cons

Getting old

Limited to A4 paper

1991 Royal Scriptor

Pros

No finger pain from constant typing

Correction tape to remove mistakes

Cons

Difficult to find cartridges

Expensive

1971 Adler Tippa

Pros

You can type in red, black and blue (must have correct ribbon)

Fairly inexpensive

Cons

Clunky and imprecise

Worst typewriter ever for portraits!

1977 Olympia SG3

Pros

Ability to type on A3 Paper

Smooth mechanical action and good key weight

Cons

Clunky and imprecise

Weighs about the same as a fully-grown elephant
